Hands-On Learning

Dr. Maria Montessori revolutionized the way the world perceives and educates children. She observed and concluded that children learn best when they engage all their senses. For this reason, you won't find rows of desks and chairs, a centrally mounted chalkboard, and an adult teacher at the front of a classroom speaking at silently seated children. Instead, a Montessori classroom is characterized by a low buzz of intentionally moving, working children. Classroom design, classic Montessori materials encourage children to touch and experiment.
